The Right Fit
CODY
There is nothing more I want to do than play doctor with my best friend and coworker, Natalie. I want to peel back her clothes and practice mouth-to-mouth for hours. While the number one rule of our job is to protect your partner, I don’t think they mean the possessive, caveman urges I have. The kind that makes me want to take her home and claim her as MINE.
She’s afraid to give in to our desire for each other. She thinks the risk will affect our jobs, possibly our lives. But passion like ours is worth risking everything for.
NATALIE
I tell myself that kissing Cody would be like kissing my brother, but I’m a damn liar. I know it will feel like the stomach-dropping, heart-pounding sensation you get from rappelling down the steepest of cliffs. I’m an adrenaline junkie and even though I know Cody could make me purr like a kitten, I keep him firmly in the friend zone. Because we’re not only best friends, we’re alpine rescue paramedics. Distractions have consequences and when a rescue goes wrong, we face the ultimate test.
